Hizbullah has put itself into a state of high readiness in preparation for any Israeli surprise attack on Lebanon. Israel is amassing troops on the Lebanon border and has carried out a number of aborted incursions both by air and by land. Hizbullah has warned Israel against making any attack on Lebanon and has vowed that such an attack would be fully resisted and would result in a fundamental change in the face of the Middle East region.
